BSA - Blow the whistle on unlicensed software

Do you know a company that is using illegal software?
Report it now and you could be rewarded with up to £10,000.

It’s estimated that 27%* of the software installed on PCs is unlicensed. If you know a company that uses unlicensed software, you could earn a reward of up to £10,000 if you report them.

Confidentiality assured

Rest assured. Any information you provide will stay completely confidential; it will only be handled by BSA legal representatives operating within national and international data protection and privacy laws.

So that we can reward you in the case of a successful judgement or settlement, we will need to take your name and contact details. Rewards are valued at 10% of any damages up to a total of £10,000.

If you choose to submit information anonymously, you will not qualify for any reward and it is harder for us to gain a successful outcome.

What happens next?

It can take a long time to fully investigate and prepare any case before it even gets to court. So if you have provided us with your contact details please do keep in mind that you may not hear from us for some time. If you don’t provide your contact details, we will be unable to keep you informed.

After you submit your report, we refer this to a legal team who will decide if they think we are likely to gain a successful outcome. If so, your report will then be investigated further by the BSA and the software manufacturers it concerns.

Only once a judgment has been made by the court or a settlement has been agreed can a payment be made to the person who gave us the tip-off. The payment is made by discreet, secure BACS transfer.
