Are you working in a crime scene?
Tell us now and you could earn up to £20,000.

The unauthorised copying or distribution of copyrighted software is illegal; it’s a criminal offence of which an estimated 27%* of companies are guilty. Some are unaware that unlicensed software is being used by their employees, some are simply turning a blind eye. Either way, they are running the risk of severe legal and financial penalties.

How do I report software piracy?

Be in no doubt - by reporting a case of software piracy, you are doing the right thing. The only way we will be able to make software piracy a thing of the past is if individuals are willing to make a stand against it.

To report a case of software piracy, simply click on Report Piracy Now and complete the form. Everything is completely confidential and the company concerned will never know you reported them.

What information do I need to provide?

To investigate and act on your software piracy report, we will require some basic information about the company involved as well as details about the software they may be using illegally. Without this, we may be unable to process your report and suggest you have these details in front of you before progressing to the next stage.

Will my report be confidential?

We appreciate your decision to report piracy and your confidentiality is very important to us. We will treat all the information you provide in the strictest confidence. It will be handled by BSA legal representatives operating within national and international data protection and privacy laws. We will not under any circumstances release your name or contact details into the public domain or to the company that you are reporting.

How do I qualify for a reward?

BSA offers a reward of up to £20,000 for every end-user piracy report received by 31st December 2009 that leads to a successful judgment or settlement. The reward is valued at 10% of the damages up to a maximum of £20,000. If you want to claim this reward, you will need to supply us with your name and contact details. Your confidentiality will still be preserved.
